The characteristics of this copper sealing ring are good sealing ability and multiple reusability. If there are any leakage issues with the drain oil plug, the fiber material version is even better suited. Especially the gearbox oil seal on the drain plug should also be renewed with each gearbox oil change.
While fiber seals break when the oil plug is loosened, a copper seal can be reused in an emergency if no new seal is available. Copper seals can be annealed with a burner, thereby partially restoring their sealing ability.
