The DR 75 cylinder with 6 ports is the original model of the DR 75 for the Vespa PK 50 and V50. This cylinder is a true classic in Vespa engine tuning.
The DR 75 strikes a balance between high durability and significantly increased performance, offering a very good price-performance ratio.
With its elaborate cylinder layout featuring 6 channels, the DR 75 is a powerful tuning cylinder that provides a lot of driving fun. At the same time, it is very durable and can achieve mileage of 20,000 km and more under optimal conditions.
Due to its more complex transfer port system, it delivers overall higher performance than the slightly simpler DR with 3 channels.
Unlike the DR 75 Formula with 10 channels, it is not as focused on high RPMs.
The cylinder set performs well even in unmodified engines but benefits from the following measures:
To practically bring the power of the DR 75 to the road, we recommend a longer 3.72 primary. Alternatively, a tuning sprocket with 16 teeth is also an option. The installation of the 16T sprocket does not require splitting the engine.
For the V50 / XL (1) clutch, we advise using a reinforced spring. A conversion to a 4-plate clutch is not necessary.
The DR 75 Fits the Following Vespa Models
The DR 75 cylinder fits the following Vespa scooters:
- V50
- 50 N-L-R
- PK 50 / PK 50 S
- PK 50 XL / XL2
Approval
The DR 75 cylinder is only approved for racing purposes and does not have approval under the StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). For legal use on public roads, an inspection at a public test center and an appropriate driving license are required.
Additional Notes
Tip: The channels of the cylinder should be slightly deburred with a small file before installation, and the running surfaces should be coated with some two-stroke oil.
