Ball bearing NU204 in cylindrical roller bearing design. The NU204 is a separate ball bearing consisting of an outer ring with cylindrical rollers and an inner ring that is fitted onto the Vespa crankshaft.
The advantage of the NU204 over a conventional one-piece ball bearing is that during crankshaft removal, no forces act on the bearing and the bearing seat of the Flywheel side. Thus, the crankshaft can be disassembled and reassembled multiple times without pulling the stator side ball bearing tightly seated on the crankshaft out of its bearing seat, thereby preserving the bearing seat.
