Complete DR 75 cc Formula cylinder for Vespa PK 50 S-XL2 and V50. The DR 75 Formula features 10 transfer ports and a boost port. The cylinder is extremely popular not only for its high durability and significantly increased performance but also for its excellent price-performance ratio.
The DR 75 cylinder runs very well in unmodified engines but benefits significantly from additional tuning measures on the engine.
The performance characteristics are sportier due to the design of the channels compared to the version with 3 transfer ports. The high engine power is ensured by the use of a high-quality piston, good craftsmanship, and low manufacturing tolerances.
The piston is also optimized and is characterized by the large intake window, which is matched to the transfer ports of the cylinder. This allows a lot of fresh mixture to flow freely through the transfer channels into the combustion chamber. Another feature of the DR 75 piston is the factory-installed lubrication holes. These holes collect engine oil and ensure optimal lubrication of the cylinder and piston even at high RPMs.
To practically bring the power of the DR 75 to the road, we recommend a longer primary.
For the clutch, we recommend using reinforced springs. A conversion to a 4-plate clutch is not necessary for the DR 75 cc.
Although the DR 75 provides significantly more power than the original cylinder, the original SHB 16.15 or SHB 16.16 carburetor is sufficient to tune the engine well and reliably, and to fully exploit the available power of the cylinder. A combination of more intake timing and/or more intake cross-section by using a racing crankshaft, 19.19 carburetor, and/or milling the rotary valve surface can increase power in the mid to upper RPM range.
The DR 75 cc Formula Cylinder Fits the Following Vespa Models
- V50 / V50 Special
- 50 N/R/L
- PK 50 S/XL/XL2
Notes for High Performance and Durability
- The channels of the cylinder should be slightly deburred with a small file before installation, and the running surfaces should be coated with some two-stroke oil.
Approval
The DR 75 Formula is only approved for racing purposes and does not have approval under the StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). For legal use on public roads, an inspection at a public test center and an appropriate driving license are required.
